The Stadia Controller accompanies Google's newest game streaming platform, Stadia. Announced at Google's GDC 2019, this controller is fine-tuned for Stadia and even includes two new buttons.
Google says that the Stadia Controller gives access to the "full Stadia experience." It uses WiFi identifies the platform you are streaming from, be it a phone or TV. This links to the Google Data Center and allows you to use the controller instantly from device to device.
There are also two new buttons that are different than other controllers like the Xbox One and PS4. The first is the Capture Button (similar to Nintendo Switch's) but pressing this captures footage and directly shares your gameplay to YouTube. The second is the Google Assistant button. This allows you to access the controller's built-in microphone for assistance with Stadia.
As for the button layout, it looks like a combination of different controllers. The duel sticks of the PS4 controller are present, meanwhile the button layout is that of a Xbox One or Nintendo controller. There is also a four-direction D-pad.
