While we've heard from Godfall a few times its presence at this year's PC Gaming Show wasn't just a flashy trailer but PC gameplay. Godfall is a new game coming from Counterplay Games and is being published by Gearbox Publishing. This title will be coming to PlayStation 5 and PC via the Epic Game Store. Godfall was first revealed to the world at last year's Game Awards where it was announced as the first confirmed PlayStation 5 game.
Keith Lee, the game director for Godfall, walked the audience through the gameplay that we saw. The high fantasy setting of Godfall is split into the four elements with a world based on Earth, Water, Air, and Fire. As a knight you're able to equip Valor Plates, powerful armor that arms you with the power to fight like a god. As you continue through the story you'll come across a number of different Valor Plates. Each has its own unique look and will buff the player in different ways.
Lee explained that the thought behind creating the game was to marry together the ideas of an Action RPG looter with third-person combat. Players won't just be able to rely on getting the best armor to make their way through the game, they'll also have to work on mastering the different combat combos and mechanics. The trailer ended with a tease of a mid-boss fight but cut away before the battle began.
Godfall will be releasing Holiday 2020 and will be available on the PlayStation 5 and PC via the Epic Game Store.
