Today God of War Ragnarok art director Raf Grassetti announced on Twitter that he has joined Netflix Games to work on a mysterious new game.
The game, which has been described as an AAA multiplatform game and original IP, appears to be the same helmed by former Halo Infinite creative director Joseph Staten, teased a few weeks ago.
Grassetti's message also mentions additional developers working on the game.
I’m happy to announce that I’ve joined Netflix to develop a new original IP AAA game. I’m really excited to build a team and to work with the amazing Joseph Staten, Jerry Edsall and Chacko Sonny to bring a new world to life.
Jerry Edsall is working on the game as lead engineer, and he previously worked in a similar role at Gears of War's studio The Coalition. Chacko Sonny is the head of the studio and he used to be Overwatch's executive producer at Blizzard Entertainment.
No further information was provided about the game in the works, but its multiplatform AAA nature certainly is intriguing considering that Netflix has focused, so far, mostly on mobile titles. We'll also have to see how a multiplatform AAA game will fit (if it'll fit at all) within Netflix's subscription model.
