Because a good joke just ain't the same if it isn't milked for all it's worth, the creators of chaotic physics fest Goat Simulator and healthy breakfast sim I am Bread are teaming up to bring you GoatBread. This free update adds a new Goat Simulator inspired level to I Am Bread, and adds the titular piece of bread from I Am Bread to Goat Simulator as a playable character.

To celebrate this collaboration, new players to the two games can now get in on the fun at a reduced price. The games can now be bought at a 66% discount via their Steam Store pages. The developers are taking their usual humorous approach to the update, apologizing to Bethesda for releasing their update in the same window as Falllout 4, saying that they're sorry if this has caused any layoffs or lost wages due to GoatBread "overshadowing their launch".

Goat Simulator got released back in 2014 to low to mixed reviews, but got an amazing fan reaction. The game also released several DLC expansion to the game like the DayZ inspired GoatZ and the standalone expansion Goat MMO Simulator.

I Am Bread got released in April of this year and lets the player control a slice of bread trying to find its way to a toaster while ensuring that the slice remains edible on its way there, avoiding obstacles on the way.

If you've got either game in your Steam library you will have already gotten the update. New players can get the games here and here.

Quick Take

I don't think I have the words to describe my feelings towards this. I found the two games to be funny one-offs with not a lot of longevity to them, but apparently there is still a lot of content left within those franchises. Gotta love the commitment to the joke, though. It's great to have games like this in a world where everything is grimdark and super serious.

I've been playing games since I was just barely able to walk so I might as well write about them.
