Ghostrunner came out just over a year ago, so it makes sense that we're getting some Ghostrunner DLC very soon. How soon? Next month soon, as Project_Hel has been announced and is launching on January 27, 2022. The million-selling cyberpunk action title stars a new character, Hel-originally one of the original games' bosses- and is descending Dharma Tower on a bloody quest of her own. She's more combat orientated and designed to appeal to both new players and veterans and can survive an additional attack in comparison to the titular Ghostrunner.

Ghostrunner kind of showed up and took everyone by surprise last year. Our own Austin Suther really liked it, along with pretty much every other reviewer in town. While a big update built upon the Ghostrunner's foundation earlier this year, some DLC on top of that sounds like just what the cyberpunk doctor ordered.

Before we begin, check out the teaser to the Ghostrunner DLC:

Intrigued? Well, it does look pretty intriguing. Project_Hel was originally planned to be a smaller DLC, but it sort of got out of control and a "full-blown Ghostrunner experience" is the end result.

While controlling Hel, players will be able to run on walls and slice through six levels. You'll do this while mastering Hel's powers through her own ability progression system. There are new enemies and bosses to slice and dice as well as six new tracks to jam to via the musical talents of Daniel Deluxe. If this sounds swell to you, there's a private beta launching later this year so you can play the Ghostrunner DLC sooner rather than later. If you're selected to participate, you'll be included in Project_Hel's credits, which will be cool to see.

That's not all, though: you'll be able to enhance your holiday experience by using the free festive sword and glove bundle that's available on December 7. You'll be able to paint the town red with the Rudolph's Run and Boon swords, which are both inspired by gift wrapping. There's also the Solstice katana and Nini Wonderland blade as well if you want to mix things up.

Project_Hel will launch on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Amazon Luna, and PC on January 27, 2022 for $14.99.
