Through Origin's On The House program, you can get Dragon Age: Origins free until October 14th! That is less than a week away and if you download it now to your Origin account, you get to keep the game for free forever. At least as long as you have that Origin account.

Dragon Age: Origins is a critically acclaimed RPG developed by Bioware back in 2009. It kicked off a franchise that many are now awaiting the next installment of, Dragon Age: Inquisition.

For those unaware of what Dragon Age: Origins is like, it is a game with interesting combat that is similar to Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. It takes place in a fantasy setting where you play as something called a Grey Warden. The Grey Wardens are an order of warriors that are extremely adept at killing darkspawn, the main enemies of the game.

The combat isn't limited to just the typical warrior though, as you can choose main different playstyles from being a mage, an archer, a rogue who specializes in traps, sword and shield, and a few other variations as well. But, just like Knights of the Old Republic, you can control/issue commands to other members of your party as well apart from your main character

At higher difficulties, the game becomes much more like a strategy game as you can pause during combat and issue orders, which becomes almost a necessity as the game is too difficult to play in real time. It also almost forces you to use all aspects of the game to beat it as well when you play it on such a high difficulty. Though, the game is just as fun on lower difficulties as well where you can play just your main character if you wish.

I would personally recommend the game to anyone interested in RPGs at all. The story for some may not be the most compelling, but it makes up for it with the dialogue between characters and the sheer variety of combat. It is an interesting game worth trying with a free download.

If you like elves, dwarves, and dragons, you will likely enjoy Dragon Age: Origins.
