Genshin Impact Alhaitham

Today Genshin Impact is being updated to version 3.4, and developer HoYoverse is celebrating with a new gameplay trailer.

The trailer features on the new five-star character added with the update, Sumeru Akademiya's Scribe Alhaitham, and it's a lot more extensive than his previous introduction, and yesterday's video that expanded on his abilities. This time around, we get a full deep dive into his gameplay and what he's capable to accomplish in battle.

Alhaitham is voiced by Nazeeh H. Tarsha in English, and Yuichiro Umehara in Japanese. You possibly know him for voicing Siegfried Kircheis in The Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These, Goblin Slayer in Goblin Slayer, Eugene Sevenstark in Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, Kasim Al-Fayed in The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki and Ira in Kingdom Hearts 3

You can watch the trailer below.

"The wisdom of everyday life is not the same as that of scholars, but there are similarities nonetheless. Only by precluding futile trivialities can one seek the silent truth."

Alhaitham will be available today in the "Caution in Confidence" event wish alongside another new character, the diminutive Yaoyao. A second wish titled "Invitation to Mundane Life" replaces him with Xiao. Both wishes also include Yun Jin and Xinyan. These event wishes will be available until February 7.

Incidentally, we also hear about the second set of gachas coming on February 7 and available until February 28 (effectively revealing the planned release date for Version 3.5). "Moment of Bloom" will feature Hu Tao, Xingqiu, Ningguang, and Beidou. "Discerner of Enigmas" will replace Hu Tao with Yelan.

If you're unfamiliar with Genshin Impact, it's currently available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, iOS, and Android. A Nintendo Switch version has been announced a long time ago, but HoYoverse has gone under the radar with it and has not said anything since despite confirming multiple times that it hasn't been canceled. We'll have to wait and see if 2023 will finally be the year of Genshin on Nintendo's console.
