The Genshin Impact 2.7 livestream has aired, revealing what we can expect from the upcoming update to the popular free-to-play action RPG. In the stream, Hoyoverse gave us a look at upcoming banners, as well as new Chasm content and much more.
What was in the Genshin Impact 2.7 livestream?
Yesterday, Hoyoverse announced the release date for the upcoming Genshin Impact 2.7 update after it was delayed back in April due to the Shanghai lockdown. Now, the Genshin Impact 2.7 livestream has given us a first look at the kind of content we can expect in the upcoming update. As you might expect, we're getting brand new banners to reflect the fact that there are two new characters coming to the game. Hydro archer Yelan is getting her own five-star banner, while Xiao and Arataki Itto are getting five-star reruns. New four-star Electro ninja Kuki Shinobu will also be available with a "huge drop-rate boost" as part of Itto's Oni's Royale banner, according to Hoyoverse.
Of course, there's much more content coming in Genshin Impact 2.7 besides these new characters. A new Perilous Path event will add a brand new Archon Quest for you to tackle alongside Yanfei, as well as Yelan, Itto, and Kuki Shinobu. In addition, Xiao, who's getting a banner rerun this update, will have a new quest for you to take on. Making progress in the story will lead to new gear unlocks and new combat challenges, too, so make sure you don't miss out on this bountiful new story content. Hoyoverse also announced the new Genshin Impact 2.7 codes, which are as follows.
- LANVJSFUD6CM (100 Primogems and 10 Mystic Enhancement Ores)
- DTNUKTWCC6D9 (100 Primogems and 5 Hero's Wits)
- HSNUKTXCCPWV (100 Primogems and 50,000 Mora)
If you're musically inclined, there's also the new "Almighty Arataki Great and Glorious Drumalong Festival", which sees you drumming along to music in a rhythm-action minigame. The Core of the Apparatus event will have you collecting materials to help a Fontaine toy merchant craft new toys and furniture items, and you'll also be helping a Sumeru researcher try to understand a new muddy substance that has spewed forth from the Chasm. All in all, it looks like there will be plenty for you to do later this month when Genshin Impact 2.7 drops. The full livestream recap hasn't been uploaded to YouTube yet, but we're expecting it to arrive very soon. In the meantime, you can check out the trailer for the update right here.
When is the Genshin Impact 2.7 release date?
You'll be able to start checking out the new Genshin Impact 2.7 update content when it launches on May 31st. Perhaps by way of an apology for the Genshin Impact 2.7 delay, developer Hoyoverse also announced the Genshin Impact 2.8 release date, with the next major update for the gacha RPG launching on July 13th (assuming there are no further delays, of course). If you log into the game right now, you can still take advantage of Hoyoverse's consolation for the 2.7 delay, which consists of some goodies including Primogems, Hero's Wit items, and Mora currency.
You can download and play Genshin Impact for free right now on PC, PlayStation consoles, and mobile platforms. The game has proven hugely popular for Hoyoverse, but the studio isn't resting on its laurels; a new Hoyoverse urban fantasy action RPG by the name of Zenless Zone Zero was recently announced, and if you like the look of it, you can sign up for a closed beta right now. We will, of course, bring you more on Genshin Impact, including any more info we get about the 2.8 update, as soon as we get it.
