Following the delay of Genshin Impact 2.7, Mihoyo has announced that it will be giving compensation to players over the next few weeks -- and it's extending the 2.6 event, too.
Mihoyo announced that Genshin Impact 2.7 would be delayed late last month. While this is surely disappointing to players who were looking forward to new content, there are two upsides to the delay: the 2.6 event has been extended and players will be compensated for the 2.7 delay.
How the Genshin Impact 2.7 Compensation Works
Players will be compensated for the Genshin Impact 2.7 delay every week according to an announcement from Mihoyo, although this will only apply to players with a little bit of time in the game.
Each week, players who have reached Adventure Rank 5 or higher by May 11, 2022, at 04:00 AM server time can claim the following items:
- Primogem x400
- Fragile Resin x1
- Hero's Wit x7
- Mystic Enhancement Ore x16
- Mora x120,000
The first compensation will be issued on May 11, 2022, at 4:00 AM server time and will continue to be issued on a weekly basis for the duration of the Genshin Impact 2.7 delay. If the final weekly period is less than 7 days long, the amounts in that week's compensation mail will be adjusted accordingly. As always, these mails expire after 30 days, so don't wait too long to claim them!
Mihoyo is also making sure that players will still have something to do in the weeks ahead -- the Genshin Impact 2.6 event will be extended. The start date has already passed, but the end date on the event is now listed as "Please refer to future announcements for the end date."
When is the Genshin Impact 2.7 Release Date?
The Genshin Impact 2.7 release date has not yet been revealed. However, the "Spices From the West" event ends on June 7, 2022, at 03:59 server time -- that suggests that that may be the soft launch date for 2.7.
While it's sad to see a delay for 2.7, Mihoyo is doing a solid job of ensuring players have stuff to do and are compensated for the delay accordingly. You can play Genshin Impact for free on PC, PlayStation, and mobile devices via its official website.
