Mihoyo has revealed the Genshin Impact 2.3 release date. The new update will launch later this month, giving you access to new characters, new challenges, and some banner reruns to get stuff you might have missed, plus lots more.

When is the Genshin Impact 2.3 release date?

According to Mihoyo, the Genshin Impact 2.3 release date is November 24th. Details regarding the update were leaked back in October, and now those details have been confirmed. We're getting two new Geo characters: Arataki Itto and Gorou. Itto is a Claymore wielder with a fearsome transformation ability, while Gorou is an archer who can support and buff your other characters. You'll get to learn more about these two either via Itto's Story Quest or Gorou and Beidou's Hangout Events. You can check out the new Genshin Impact 2.3 trailer if you want to see a rundown of everything that's new.

In the new Genshin Impact 2.3 update, you'll get to meet this little guy. Sif has nothing on him.

It's not just characters, of course. Genshin Impact 2.3 will also take you back to Dragonspine to complete a series of challenges alongside old friends like Albedo and Eula. For doing so, you'll get a 4-star Sword weapon and the chance to create your very own snowman. There's also a new quest involving a frankly adorable Warrior Dog, alongside whom you must investigate a spate of small animal disappearances. This quest will eventually lead you to a reward that lets you replicate some creatures in your Serenitea Pot. You can also now invite Paimon into your Pot, so set aside some time to hang out with your buddy!

What are the new Genshin Impact 2.3 banners?

Of course, there are some new Genshin Impact 2.3 banners to check out as well. The first new banners are 5-star reruns of Albedo and Eula. After these banners have ended, there'll be a new banner where you can get a 5-star Arataki Itto and a 4-star Gorou. As part of a new system for these duo-banners, Albedo and Eula will share the same cumulative luck pool, so if you roll 50 unsuccessful Wishes on one character, you'll be guaranteed a 5-star version of the other character within 40 Wishes. This also goes for items; failing to get a 4-star item within 6 rolls on one banner will guarantee you a 4-star item within 4 rolls on the other.

The new Genshin Impact 2.3 banners have some interesting ways to make getting a banner character more likely.

What are the new Genshin Impact 2.3 promo codes?

We also have the new Genshin Primogem codes, which will entitle you to get some bonus Primogems, Mystic Enhancement Ores, Hero's Wits, and extra Mora. You can either redeem these via the game itself, by going to Settings and then Account, or you can head here to do so. Here are the new Genshin codes, along with the rewards you'll get if you redeem them. Trust us, it's worth it!

  • KB6DKDNM7H49 - 100 Primogems, 10 Mystic Enhancement Ores
  • BSNDJC747Z7D - 100 Primogems, 5 Hero's Wits
  • AS7CJDP4NG7H - 100 Primogems, 50,000 Mora

Given that Genshin Impact 2.2 launched in mid-October and 2.1 arrived in early September, we can probably expect Genshin Impact 2.4 to come along sometime in December. Watch this space for more info about that update, including what it's bringing with it, which banners you can look forward to, and other stuff. Here's hoping we can get another shot at some more of the 5-star characters we missed the first time around.

What is Genshin Impact?

Genshin Impact is a free-to-play gacha action RPG from Honkai Impact 3rd developer Mihoyo. It's an open-world game influenced by Breath of the Wild in which you must journey across the vast land of Teyvat in search of your lost sibling. While Genshin Impact is completely free-to-play, it does have a gacha system in which you can make Wishes (read: dice rolls) for characters and items, and you can pay real cash for more Wishes if you want to.

Genshin Impact's Breath of the Wild-inspired setting has proven popular with gamers around the world.

It's fair to say Genshin Impact has proven pretty popular. Genshin Impact 2.1 raked in $151 million within its first week of availability, which isn't too shabby. Mihoyo's runaway success with the game has enabled it to branch out, too. The studio is reportedly developing a brand new AAA game that will revolve around a new IP created by the team. We'll have to wait and see what comes of that. Until then, you can download Genshin Impact for free on PC, PlayStation, and mobile devices.
