Chinese publisher miHoYo has announced the Genshin Impact 2.2 release date is October 13th, meaning that's when you can expect the new content on PC, PlayStation, and mobile devices.

What to Expect from the Genshin Impact 2.2 Update

This update will include a new character to unlock, Thoma, as well as opening up the last island of Inazuma, the fog-filled Tsurumi Island, to the player base. All of these reveals were first leaked over a month ago, from new weapons to Thoma's entire stat progression. Though the confirmation now at least shows that fans don't have to wait long to try out Thoma for themselves, as well as exploring the island of Tsurumi when the update is launched.

Along with Thoma and Tsurumi, a few other additions have been confirmed with Genshin Impact 2.2. You will have a new Inazuma-themed realm style and furnishing blueprints for crafting, seasonal events, and mini-games, and providing DualSense controller support for the PC version of the game. New creatures will be introduced as well, some of which are so dangerous they will do constant damage to all party members.

Finally, Aloy from Horizon: Zero Dawn is being extended beyond the PlayStation versions of the game, she will now be available to all players across all platforms who are above level A20. You will have until version 2.3 releases, which is expected to release in mid-November, to get her.

The announcement for the October release of version 2.2 comes at a time where many have been dissatisfied with Genshin Impact's anniversary event, to the point of it being review bombed for having a lackluster set of rewards for players. miHoYo responded by releasing more free items to the playerbase, also promising more upgrades and changes in the near future.

MiHoYo Partnering to Create Genshin Impact Razer Gear

Along with the announcement of version 2.2, miHoYo also announced a special new partnership for their studio and Genshin Impact fans. The studio is now teaming up with Razer to create special co-branded products of Genshin Impact, especially for PC users. Razer has shown off images of a new V2 Pro Ergonamic Wireless Gaming Mouse, and a Goliathus Speedsoft Gaming Mouse Mat, each of them featuring distinct Genshin Impact designs. The biggest piece, however, is a Razer Iskur X Ergonamic Gaming Chair that comes in two different varieties. Other designs, of course, will be made available at Razer customs

"The beautiful world of Genshin Impact has encapsulated many fans globally and the opportunities are boundless,” said Justin Cooney, Director, Global Partnerships at Razer. “Through this partnership, Razer will provide our expertise in deepening the gamer’s immersive experience through our award-winning hardware, software, and services, and bring the adventure to life.”

Be on the lookout for Genshin Impact Update 2.2 on October 13th.
