Systemic Reaction have released the next major Generation Zero update: Base Assault, which will allow players to storm fully destructible bases on Steam, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. It's also available for Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass subscribers. The open-world co-op title has added a bunch of procedurally generated FNIX bases to the Forest Region. This comes with evolving difficulty levels, layouts, and challenges to help ensure that every player should have a unique experience.

What else is in the latest Generation Zero update?

To begin, the aforementioned bases will have turrets, mines, and reinforcements to deal with, so don't think it's going to be a walk in the park to take these down. There's also some loot for your trouble, so you won't be capturing them for free either. The update also comes with new control points in Command Tokens. Capture FNIX bases and convert the control points to the Resistance and players will open new locations to build and defend their own additional bases.

There are also new story missions that will expand on storylines introduced earlier this year, a free base building pack where players all get a pack filled with base building items, and map revamps and UI improvements. The Marshland region has been redesigned for better "environmental storytelling", which should come as a relief to Generation Zero players. There's also a new inventory sorting system and map icon filtering, which should also be welcome additions for players looking for a better overall experience.
