Gears of War 4 will be bundled as a digital download with select GeForce GTX 1070 and GeForce GTX 1080 cards according to the official GeForce website. The announcement highlighted a video showcasing 4K gameplay on a GeForce GTX 1080:
Gears of War 4 (developed by The Coalition and published by Microsoft Studios) is the latest title in the Gears of War series of games. It takes place on an Earth-like world called Sera where humans fight against enemies hellbent on eradicating mankind such as the subterranean Locust and the mutated Lambent. The game focuses on the son of the original main character Marcus Fenix and humanity's new struggles 25 years after the activation of a device that wiped out the major threats to humanity.
This bundle is available at participating retailers and will net you a digital copy of Gears of War 4 for free. As an additional incentive, Gears of War 4 is an Xbox Play Anywhere title. This means that when you purchase a game for Windows 10 it is also available to play on the Xbox One at no additional cost. The bundled version of the game is eligible for the program.
The recommended card for Gears of War 4 is the GeForce GTX 1060. Unfortunately, that particular model is not part of this bundle. However, if you're just interested in playing the game a GeForce 750 Ti or greater will allow you to play the game at 1080p (assuming the rest of your computer is up to snuff.)
If you're interested in the bundle, you can check out the bundle's redemption page here to see participating retailers. This bundle will be available for a limited time. You can pre-order Gears of War 4 for the Xbox One or for the PC via the Windows Store. It releases on October 11, 2016.
Is Gears of War 4 enough of an incentive to encourage you to pick up a GeForce GTX 1070 or GeForce GTX 1080? How do you think the game looks compared to its predecessors? Would you be using the Xbox Play Anywhere feature at any point or will you only play it on PC? Let us know in the comments below!
