If you've been looking forward to the Games With Gold November 2022 releases, I have some bad news for you: they're a touch underwhelming. That's no fault to the games themselves, but neither of them are likely to set your world on fire (although you never know, eh?).
Basically, we've got Praetorians - HD Remaster and Dead End Job, both of which have good reviews on Steam but are arguably not the most memorable titles out there. With Xbox 360 titles getting ditched from the service last month, the service now seems quite barren in comparison to what it used to offer Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Xbox Live Gold subscribers.
So, what are the games about? Well, to start, you could probably tell from the title that the Praetorians - HD Remaster is set in the Roman Empire. An RTS title, you'll fight in Egypt, Gaul, and Italy as you fight to become Emperor. You'll be controlling thousands of troops that have their own special skills and strengths, and in order to triumph you'll need to be using your troops to their fullest potential.
You'll need to be good at organizing and utilizing your troops if you want to survive facing down the Praetorian Guard, who will be your most powerful and deadly foes. Praetorians - HD Remaster will be available from November 1st to the 30th on Games With Gold.
The second title, Dead End Job, is a local co-op action indie title that has you busting ghosts in a world that has an art style inspired by 90's cartoons like Ren & Stimpy. It's a twin stick shooter, and you'll be sent to procedurally generated environments in restaurants and offices to give ghosts a bad time as you try and save your mentor's soul.
The co-op mechanic is drop in and drop out, so if your friends want to feel good as well you can pass a second controller around and bust some ghosts. Dead End Job will be available on Xbox Games With Gold from November 16th to December 15th.
You've only got a few days left to claim one of last month's Games With Gold offerings, with Windbound exiting the service on October 31st. Bomber Crew: Deluxe Edition is hanging around until November 15th, though, so you've got a little longer to pick that one up before it flies off into the sunset.
