The game-making game Crayta is now free-to-play on Google Stadia, and that's not all — it's also making its way to the Epic Games Store next month and will also have a free edition available on that platform.
Crayta is much more than just a game. Simply put, i's similar to titles like LittleBigPlanet or Dreams, allowing players to use a suite of powerful tools to make their own playable content. Of course, you don't have to make your own stuff — thousands of user-created games are already available.
This game has been available on Stadia as a premium game; Stadia Pro members were also able to grab the game for free. Now, a brand new Starter Edition has been created and will be available to all Stadia players, regardless of whether or not they have Stadia Pro. That's not the only new development, though — it's also making its way to PC.
Crayta Coming to PC on the Epic Games Store
Crayta will be arriving on the Epic Games Store in a little over a month, finally opening up this game-making game to a wider audience of players. And yes, the free edition will also be available for new players on that platform.
You won't have to worry about missing out on any content if you've already played the game (or you have friends on Stadia), either — the new PC edition will feature cross-play, cross-progression, and account linking.
In both cases, there will soon be three editions of the game according to today's announcement beginning on March 10, 2021.
- Crayta: Starter Edition — F2P base game with access to all the creation tool and games, plus a small starter selection of cosmetics
- Crayta: Champion Edition — $49.99 — contains everything in the Starter Edition, plus the ‘Premium Pack’ of cosmetics, 2 extra theme packs, 500 Credits, Battle Pass 1 (from March 10th) and Battle Pass 2 (in Q2)
- Crayta: Deluxe Edition — $59.99 ($19.99 for Pro subscribers) — contains everything in Champion Edition, plus 1 extra theme pack and 1000 credits
Aside from that, if you’re on Stadia you will also still see the Premium Edition:\
- Crayta: Premium Edition — (free to Pro subscribers only) — contains everything in the Starter Edition, plus the ‘Premium Pack’ of cosmetics, 4 extra theme packs, 500 Credits
When is the Crayta PC Release Date?
The Crayta PC release date will be March 10, 2021 — the same day that the game officially splits into three editions on the Stadia Store. You'll be able to play it for free, but you can also be able to pick up premium editions starting at the pre-purchase discount of $34.99 or your regional equivalent.
