Today at the Nintendo Direct it was announced that not only will the Game Boy but Game Boy Advance titles will finally be coming to Nintendo Switch Online. It was announced that the Game Boy games will be available for those who subscribe to the basic tier of Nintendo Online, while the Game Boy Advance will be restricted to the Deluxe Tier.
Nintendo Switch Online Game Boy Games
Starting today players will be able to enjoy the following Game Boy titles with filters to emulate Game Boy, Game Boy Pocket, and Game Box Color:
- Super Mario
- Link's Awakening DX
- Tetris
- Super Mario Land 2 - 6 Golden Coins
- Gargoyle's Quest
- Game and Watch Gallery 3
- Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare
- Metroid II - Return of Samus
- Wario Land 3
- Kirby's Dream Land
It's not just the initial reveal that was shown off as games such as the Legend of Zelda Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons, Pokemon Trading Card Game, and Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble were shown to be the first games that will be coming in the future. Select games will be playable in multiplayer across multiple systems.
Nintendo Switch Online Game Boy Advance Games
Games that will be coming to the Switch Online premium tier are:
- The Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap
- Super Mario Advance 4
- Warioware Inc Mega Microgames
- Kuru Kuru Kururin
- Mario Kart Super Circuit
- Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga
These games will also allow for online multiplayer between systems. Some of the titles shown off to be added in future releases of the Game Boy Advance selection are Metroid Fusion, Kirby and the Amazing Mirror, Fire Emblem, F-Zero: Maximum Velocity, and Golden Sun among others.
