The Game Awards Reveals

The Game Awards were last night and with that not only were a lot of games that won awards as well as many different announcements. If you missed the award show because you just weren't near a stream or were asleep then here are all of the big announcements that you missed. I will warn you early that a lot of these games were barely shown so if there isn't much then i'm sorry and hopefully more information will be released shortly!

The first announcement came from Shigeru Miyamoto talking about the future of Nintendo and showing off titles such as Splatoons, Starfox and The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D. Footage was then shown of Mario Maker, a game where you can create Mario levels on the fly. Showing off such features as changing graphics between old and new mario games, new enemies and features such as being able have random items fire from cannons. This game will be coming to WiiU and 3DS in the upcoming year.

Kojima next took to the stage to show off footage of Metal Gear Online, a multiplayer feature for Metal Gear Solid 5: Phantom Pain. Announced was that main characters will be playable in the online mode but that not much else could be announced. The trailer for Metal Gear Online showed off the breathtaking graphics of the new Fox Engine as a soldier changes his appearance before settling on Big Boss appearance. An infiltration of what seems to be a 6 man team infiltrating a base in the desert. One of the big parts of the multiplayer is flanking movements that can distract an opponent in one direction while your team members sneak up behind them. You are able to hijack and pilot mechs with automated turrets and even use them to kick away any opposing forces. The final scene in the trailer shows Snake taking a selfie with Revolver Ocelot.

The next premier is for Fullbrights new game Tacoma, not much was really shown but a short trailer. Fullbright is the indie game company that created Gone Home.

Bloodborne new footage was shown next due to the Playstation Experience event also happening in Las Vegas right now. This gameplay trailer starts off with a narration about how everything that moves or doesn't more could be a beast. The player character is following a mysterious man when he is attacked from the side. A flamethrower is shown off in the next scene before a quick transition to a man repeatedly hitting something on the ground with his weapon. He alludes to the player character becoming a beast eventually, this may mean that everyone in this world eventually succumbs to some kind of ailment and becomes one of the haunting figures that appear.

After a short summary of the success of The Banner Saga and a musical piece developers Stoic announced that Banner Saga 2 was in development.

A new indie group has just been accepted into the EA family, Hazelight, the company that created Brothers. Members of the team talked about the production of Brothers and that creating new IP's in the lifeblood of the industries. They are working on a new game but could only show a brief trailer, it didn't contain a name. The trailer shows two men sitting at the door of a moving freight trail as it passes through a moonlit forest.

Dungeon Defenders 2 was shown briefly and is now available for early access on steam. A trailer was shown detailing new character models and turret options.

Adrift, a FPS, where you play as a man stuck on a spaceship trying to get home, must collect resources to ensure his own survival. This game is being developed by ThreeOneZero. In the trailer for Adrift you can really see how UE4 shows off locations and particles as you see everything in the lunch room floating in the air. The player moves out of the space ship and into outer space to show off survival aspects of the game. The end slate reveals that the game will be released for Xbox One, PS4 and Steam. On steam the game will also have Oculus Rift support.

"Before" was announced by Facepunch, and after some explanation behind the title choice a trailer was shown of an eagle flying over a prehistoric land. After more shots we see cavemen primitive humans building a town and surviving. Beautiful cell shaded landscapes are shown with animals such as wooly mammoths, saber tooth tigers and even a whale breaching.

Visceral was up next showing off some new footage of Battlefield: Hardline, the cinematic trailer shows off some of the story elements of the game. New info on how the next beta will be done with new multiplayer modes to be shown off. Battlefield: Hardline will be released on March 17th.

After a break to announce some awards Playstation came back to unveil more information about The Order 1886. This new trailer shows a cinematic where the player takes over an airship. Next was MLB The Show, the announcement of who will be on the cover of the game, from the LA Dodgers Puig (66), Naughty Dog will release more info about Uncharted 4 tomorrow, Until Dawn was announced where all of the world choices you make will influence the story events. The game looks to have the same kind of interaction choices that games like Beyond Two Souls and Heavy rain where you can pick options for where you want the character to go next. This game will be released next week.

Temple of Osiris got more gameplay as Lara faces off against enemies and even against Anubis himself. Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris will be released on the 9th of December.

New footage of The Witcher III was shown that you will play as a secondary character as well as Geralt, the new playable character is a new female character. No word as to whether you will be able to freely swap between the two options or whether this second character will only be playable during certain parts of the game.

The next trailer was for No Man's Sky. They highlighted how every aspect of their game is going to be procedurally developed. A blue planet is shown as the player gets into a spaceship and tours around planets as you can see the world being created around them. The spaceship stops on planet Gorogohl, showing that all planets get their own names too, where the character enters a portal which takes him to a different planet. 65daysofstatic, a band that the development team are fans of, is also going to be releasing a No Man's Sky album.

Next to the stage was a Godzilla game which seems to be a game. Not much more was revealed about the game except for that King Ghidorah will make an appearance.

Footage of the new Kings Quest by Sierra was shown after an award was given to the original founders of Sierra. The new game has a heavily cell shaded and 3D artstyle to it. Showing off great locations like vast forests, dragon guarded caves and dark caverns. This game will be released for Xbox 360, Xbox One, Playstation 3 and Playstation 4.

The first look at Human Element for PC, Xbox One and PS4 was shown off. The trailer starts serious with bikers invading a desert fort but as the trailer progresses the enemies the character is fighting becomes a zombie.

To chants of "Reggie" the president of Nintendo of America takes to the stage again. He passes off the mic to Miyamoto to show more Zelda footage. We get to see the views from the mountain tops of the new world. The map of the world is shown on the Wii U gamepad and is much larger than any other game. The idea of a persistant environment where apples may be growing in trees or not was mentioned as well. While riding horses you don't need to change direction to avoid obstacles such as trees or rocks and you can even vault off your horse and fire arrows in slow motion. This game will be released in 2015 and when Miyamoro was asked about Star Fox he replied saying that Star Fox for Wii U will be out before The Legend of Zelda and before that Majora's Mask 3DS will be released.
