Playstation Heroes, a new initiative from Sony, will see celebrity guests competing in Playstation titles against winning participants of a sweepstakes among those who purchase certain digital items on the PS4 online store. 90% of the proceeds from these sales goes to charitable causes such as The V Foundation for Cancer Research and the United Service Organization. The titular heroes are represented in promotional materials by their celebrity stars in superhero form, performing acts of heroism. This includes Shaun White with ice powers, Stephen Curry as a basketball telekinetic, and Snoop Doggtaur.

Please go see Snoop Doggtaur. You deserve it.

Downloading the Playstation Heroes app will allow players to enter the sweepstakes by making purchases, as well as watch the monthly match between the winner and guest.

Playstation has kicked off their philanthropic initiative by donating $100,000 to each of the participating charities. On top of this, the bulk of the profit from relevant store items will represent a significant contribution to these foundations. PS4 owners wishing to pitch in and be included in the drawing to be pitted against each months celebrity guest can buy themes and other content beginning in March. Correspondingly, the March guest is Shawn White, who will be playing Destiny against that months winner. Profit will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, to benefit terminally ill children. Proceeding months will see the rest of the Playstation Heroes cast drop by to participate in future events. Sony is in the process of accepting feedback about what celebrities players would like to see in future events, so if you'd like to play BlazBlue against DMX, go let your voice be heard.

Is this a good initiative on Sonys part? What star do you want to see on the PS4 playing which game? I MUST KNOW TELL ME IN THE COMMENTS.
