Subset Games, the developer behind the roguelike strategy game FTL: Faster Than Light has announced a new game by opening up a Steam Store page for it. This game, titled Into the Breach, seems to be a turn-based strategy game about defending what's left of the human race from a gigantic race of creatures (called the Vek) that have been buried deep underground for centuries.
The remnants of human civilization are threatened by gigantic creatures breeding beneath the earth. You must control powerful mechs from the future to hold off this alien threat. Each attempt to save the world presents a new randomly generated challenge in this turn-based strategy game from the makers of FTL.Here's the trailer they released with the opening of the Steam Store page:
Players have to mount a defense consisting of everyone's favorite futuristic war machine: the Mech. Those mechs, which can be upgraded with powerful gear and pilots, are apparently powered by civilian buildings and are the first and last line of defense against the terrestrial horrors emerging from the depths of the earth. A nice little addition is the Another Chance mechanic, which allows you to send help back through time in order to save your timeline before it all goes to Hell.

The gameplay centers around countering enemy attacks with the right counterattack, which means you'll need to analyze the enemy's actions in order to anticipate how and where their next attack swoops in to interrupt your poor citizens just trying to enjoy their lives in a post-apocalyptic world.
There is no release date as of yet, with the Steam Store page stating that Into the Breach will be available to the public "when it's finished."
