NetEase Games is working with 11 Bit Studios to develop and publish Frostpunk Mobile, which means iOS and Android players will soon be able to make difficult choices during an eternal winter later this year.
A different take on the city builder and survival genre, Frostpunk mixes them for a societal survival game that innovated and created a unique feel. Frostpunk has players as the leader of the last city on Earth. In it, players must run the city and allocate resources, solve social problems, and lead the city through an eternal winter. Frostpunk Mobile will focus on the meaning of humanity: where does it stand between life and death? What is the thin line that separates an organized society from inhumane disorder? Apparently we're going to be finding out.
“11 bit studios is on a quest to create high-quality meaningful entertainment. Our games make people think. This is what Frostpunk does. Now, our grand goal is to define meaningful experiences on mobile devices,” said Przemysław Marszał, the CEO of 11 Bit Studios, “I believe we found the right partner who shares the same passion and wants to take the challenge. NetEase Games is the perfect choice. Together we are on the quest to bring an unforgettable game to iOS and Android.”
“We are excited to collaborate with 11 bit studios and bring its world-renowned Frostpunk IP into a mobile version,” said Ethan Wang, Vice President of NetEase. “We believe NetEase' s world-class R&D, and operating and publishing know-how, and both companies' shared vision to inspire a deeper exploration of humanity, gives the collaboration potential to create a meaningful gaming experience for global players.”
Frostpunk Mobile will have new features from the original which include "Roguelike Adventure, Law and Guild, Rare Animal Rescue Station, and Character Development", with the overriding goal to provide an immersive experience for "worldwide players."
For those that are interested in a mobile version of Frostpunk, there will be more information announced at NetEase Games’ Annual Product Launch Event on May 20th, 2021. While you should always use TechRaptor to stay up to date, there's also a website, Twitter, and Facebook pages if you're really into the idea of Frostpunk Mobile.
