Left Alive is a mech-themed game is a spin-off Front Mission series and was initially unveiled at 2017's Toyko Game Show. It'll release March 5 for PlayStation 4 and Steam.

The project has some pretty big names attached to it. Namely, Yoji Shinkawa of Metal Gear fame is designing the characters, Shinji Hashimoto of Square Enix is producing, and Toshifumi Nabeshima of Armored Core V is directing. Yoji Shinkawa's contribution is immediately recognizable, as the game looks extremely Metal Gear Solid.

Left Alive takes place in the fictional location of Novo Slava in 2127 after a devastating surprise invasion leaves the city swarming with enemy troops, towering mechs, and in ruins.

You’ll play as three different characters with three different paths, all seeking salvation from the war that has erupted in the city. As each of those characters, you will have to make difficult choices in your escape. These choices and the routes you take will supposedly all have an impact on how the story unfolds.

An excerpt from the PlayStation blog post goes into more detail. "Let’s say you’re avoiding enemy patrols and trying to sneak your way out of the warzone, but you come across a pair of soldiers who are holding a group of refugees at gunpoint. What do you do? You have a few options. The heroic thing to do would be to run in, take the soldiers out and save the civilians, but that comes at the cost of risking your own safety and supplies. You also have the option to take a more strategic stealth approach, or even to bypass the confrontation in order to not to risk your life or your resources on a deadly rescue mission. Your choice will affect your characters’ story in different ways."

It sounds like it'll have an emphasis on stealth as you sneak around the besieged city. The game is described as a "survival shooter", so there may well be some survival elements to consider. No doubt we'll hear more about the game before it lands March 5.

Square Enix also revealed the limited Mech Edition bundle, which is available exclusively from the Square Enix Online Store for $159.99 and includes:
