XSeed Games has announced their E3 lineup and the most fascinating part of it was the long-awaited announcement of Galaxy Trail's indie hit Freedom Planet hitting Nintendo Switch.

Developer Galaxy Trail began discussions of a Switch port after a tease in January helped prompt thousands of requests for the Sonic inspired platformer to come to Nintendo's latest system. After that, the developer went quiet on the topic, working more on their sequel until a couple days ago when they posted a new tweet that got everyone's attention.

In case Galaxy Trail is reading this, yes you did it right.

Set to come this Fall, MP2 Games is doing the port, and it's getting some sexy new box art to go with the release (although there is no physical release for Switch announced as of now). According to MP2, this release will come with new language options for Freedom Planet, as well as customizable controls. For those not familiar with it, Freedom Planet features three characters who are loosely based on the original Sonic trio of Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles in Lilac, Carol, and Milla. Each of them has their own unique abilities in how they go through stages and deal with problems, and the story mode alters based on who you have in the lead role with unique stages for characters as well.

Freedom Planet will be at E3 on Nintendo Switch where it will be joined by Gal Metal on the system. Beyond that Fate/EXTELLA LINK will be there with the first hands-on of the English release, the remake of Senran Kagura series Senran Kagura Burst Re:Newal and indie title Sakuna: of Rice and Ruin all on PlayStation 4. Finally, Gungrave VR will be there as XSeed's first VR title, for the PlayStation VR.
