Forza Motorsport 7 will have a 50GB day one patch and some of the game's features won't be available on the first day of release as reported by VG 24/7.

Developers Turn 10 Studios have stated that the game is around 95 GB in total size with 45 GB of the game's content on disc and the remainder hosted on the console's hard drive. The game includes over 700 distinct vehicles, 32 different tracks, a career mode, and multiplayer and competitive modes. The game will be playable from the disc, but additional content such as unlocks from the single-player Driver's Club will require the 50 GB patch to play.

Most of the game's features will be available at launch, but some features won't be available until sometime after the game's release. The Auction House, Leagues, and Forzathon events will be enabled in the first few weeks of gameplay. New in-game events & other features will be gradually added as time goes on. Xbox One X owners will have access to a patch on November 7, 2017, which will allow the game to run in native 4K resolution at 60 FPS as a free update.

Thankfully, the patch may not be as hefty as it could have been thanks to Microsoft's new Intelligent Delivery initiative. Consoles will not download unnecessary files (such as graphical assets for the Xbox One X when you're on an Xbox One and vice versa) as long as the developers have configured the patch properly. If you're keen on taking some virtual cars for a spin, you can hop into the free Forza Motorsport 7 demo right now. The full game releases on October 3, 2017, and Ultimate Edition owners get access to the game on September 29.

What do you think of Forza Motorsport 7? What do you think of the size of the day one patch? Do you think developers should make more of an effort to reduce the file size of patches? Let us know in the comments below!
