In less than two months, you won't be able to purchase a new digital copy of Forza Motorsport 7 on PC or Xbox; Turn 10 Studios has announced that the game is reaching its "End of Life."
Forza Motorsport 7 is the latest game in the Forza Motorsport franchise of racing games. It first launched all the way back in 2017 and there hasn't been any talk of a sequel just yet. Now, Turn 10 Studios has let loose the unfortunate news that you won't be able to purchase it digitally this September.
Why Are Forza Motorsport 7 Sales Stopping?
Unfortunately, Turn 10 Studios has not specified why Forza Motorsport 7 is reaching "End of Life." The news post on the franchise's official website explains what is going to happen, but not why.
On September 15, 2021, Forza Motorsport 7 (and all of its DLC) will be removed from the Microsoft Store and you won't be able to purchase it any longer. The game is also being removed from Xbox Game Pass.
What about current owners of the game? Well, the multiplayer servers and other online services are going to remain online for the time being. If you've already bought it (or you plan on buying it before the deadline), you should still be able to play it for some time.
That does leave us with one nagging question: why exactly is Forza Motorsport 7 reaching "End of Life?" Our best guess is some kind of licensing issue — September 15 is a little less than four years after the game first launched for Xbox and the timing may not be a coincidence. That said, we can't say if this is the reason for certain.
Either way, you have 48 days to buy Forza Motorsport 7 for PC and Xbox before it goes away for good — you'll be able to pick it up for just $9.99 or your regional equivalent, a hefty 75% discount that will last until the September 15 End of Life deadline.
