The Forza Horizon 4 "Super7" game mode has been revealed and it looks pretty cool: players will soon be able to create their own custom challenges in the game with some very interesting props.

Forza Horizon 4 is the newest game in the Horizon sub-franchise. While the Forza Motorsport games focus on restricted track races, the Horizon games bring the same great gameplay to a more open world. Now, that open world is about to get a lot more interesting with the introduction of Super7.

What is Forza Horizon 4 Super7?

Simply put, Super7 is a feature that was created to allow the community to make even more cool custom creations. It wasn't an easy undertaking, though, especially because the game wasn't originally designed for something like this.

"We chose to place as few restrictions as we could." – Mike Brown, Forza Horizon 4 Creative Director

"When we were making this feature — and it's a pretty big undertaking to retrofit something like this into a game that came out a couple of years ago, a game that wasn't really made for it in the first place — and that posed us some challenges and some difficulties about where we placed the restrictions, what we let you see, what we let you do" said Forza Horizon 4's Creative Director Mike Brown in the December 2020 Forza Monthly livestream. "We chose to place as few restrictions as we could."

That's not to say there are no restrictions. One thing that will limit your designs will be well-familiar to similar editors in other games: a "budget" meter sits conspicuously at the top right of the screen. Every prop you add eats up a little bit of this budget and this serves as a hard limit for the props you can place, although not every prop takes up the same amount of budget.

Ultimately, players will be able to make their creators and share them online with one another. The livestream showed off some pretty cool creations and there's a fair amount of freedom for players to cook up some interesting new challenges.
