Fortnite Season 10 is ending in a couple of days, and the next season may bring some massive changes. A leak from the Italian version of the iOS App Store reveals that the next season will be called Fortnite Chapter 2.
This morning, a video leaked on Reddit that shows footage of someone looking up Fortnite on the Italian iOS App Store. The most notable part of the video is a still image that appears in a preview video for the game. That image, which has been spread across social media, has text that reads 'Fortnite Capitolo 2' ("capitolo" is "chapter" in Italian.) The image also features three characters looking over an unfamiliar landscape featuring a mix of old and new. Many players may notice the rivers have boats in them, which could be the game's first aquatic vehicles. Others may notice the city area that may be reminiscent of the Tilted Towers.
There's been some suspicion that we'd be seeing a major map revamp for a while now. Not just one that changes around some locations, but an entirely new landscape redrawn from scratch. It's also possible Chapter 2 will represent a brand new story arc to the world of Fortnite. The current story began more or less back in Season 3 when the Visitor's meteor struck Dusty Depot. The current season, Season 10, features a countdown timer over a rocket situated at Dusty Depot. What will happen when the timer hits zero? Who knows. The season finale event, simply titled 'The End,' will happen at 2 PM Eastern on October 13. Interestingly, unlike other season finales, this one takes place right before the servers go down so Epic can patch in the new season's material. Normally the finale happens a couple of days before the servers are shut down, giving the players a few days to continue playing and processing the events of that season.
If the leak is true, Fortnite Chapter 2 will arrive on October 14, when the new season starts.
