The Fortnitemares 2022 event has just launched, which means players can now meet DJ Lyka at the Reality Tree and turn into a wolf-like monster with wolf-like abilities. There are also Quests that can be completed for rewards, the Zero Build Horde Rush mode is back, and you can have a party with your own unvaulted items. There's a lot to do during the Fortnitemares 2022 event, and it will be running until November 1st at 6AM BST. You might think that there's almost too much to do in Fornitemares 2022 but given that the event has been running annually for a few years now, it makes sense that it would be a well-honed machine at this point.
The most interesting part of the event, becoming a wolf, is fairly easily done. You don't even have to go to the Reality Tree, as there are other altars that can be found around the map. Once the ritual is complete, you'll receive the Howler Claws, which will give you three canine abilities: Wolfscent Ability, Slash Ability, and Air Slash Ability. The Wolfscent Ability will provide players with a tracking vision every time they howl, which will repeatedly place a mark on enemies in a nearby radius. If there are no enemies in your radius, the ability will enter cooldown. If you are being tracked by someone using the Ability, your sixth sense will let you know with an audible heartbeat that grows louder as your hunter gets closer.
The Slash and Air Slash Abilities are much simpler. The Slash Ability is sharp fingernails that can be used to perform a four-combo melee attack, and the Air Slash Ability will have you perform a double-jump that damages your enemies upon landing.
As for the potentially less interesting inclusions in the Fortnite Halloween event, the Zero Build Horde Rush mode will have you and some teammates taking down hordes of monsters. While doing so, you'll collect score multipliers and earn combos as you move to multiple locations. The Zero Build Hore Rush mode will last longer than the Fornitemares 2022 event itself-November 15th-so you have plenty of time to take down the Final Boss.
While completing the Zero Build Horde Rush mode, there will also be Horde Rush Quests to complete. These range from performing the Alteration Altar ritual, visiting places like Grim Gables, and using unvaulted items like Candy and the Pumpkin Launcher. Only 2 Fornitemares Quests will be available daily over 14 days. If you complete 5, you'll unlock the Everything's End Glider. 13 gets you the Chrome Cage Back Sling, and 25 will unlock the Unmaker Pickaxe.
