A new Football Manager game has been announced alongside a release date and some welcome news for Sony fans. Sega has confirmed that a Football Manager 2023 PlayStation release date is on the cards, meaning that Sony fans will be able to play the franchise on Sony's console for the first time ever.

So a Football Manager 2023 PlayStation release has been confirmed?

Yes indeed. Football Manager 2023 promises to bring more of the same in-depth stat management gameplay that you've come to know and love from the franchise. Just like its predecessor, Football Manager 2023 will be available on Xbox Game Pass at launch, with the game's PC and console versions both hitting the service.

For the first time in Football Manager history, you'll also get the chance to play the game on PlayStation, as the 2023 edition is hitting the PS5 at the same time as it launches for other platforms. Interestingly enough, Sega doesn't list the PS4 as a platform for the game, so it looks like it'll be exclusive to the PS5 if you're a PlayStation fan.

If you like hugely complex menus like this one, then you'll be right at home in Football Manager 2023.

When is the Football Manager 2023 release date?

It won't be too long until you get to play Football Manager 2023 across all the platforms it's due to arrive on. The Football Manager 2023 release date is November 8th, and that goes for everything it's available on, including its day one Xbox Game Pass release. Get ready to shout at your players from the sidelines soon.

To commemorate the Football Manager 2023 announcement, Sega also shared some interesting statistics regarding Football Manager 2022. According to the developer, players racked up 400 million matches in Football Manager last season, with billions of goals and over 900,000 seasons cumulatively.

A match in progress in Football Manager 2022
Football Manager combines in-depth strategic management with watching games play out according to the strategies you've enacted.

There were over 1.6 million nine-goal games in last season's Football Manager count, as well as more than 12 million cups won and over 76,000 Bundesliga winners. Suffice it to say that Football Manager remains a phenomenally popular title amongst soccer fans (which I say through clenched teeth as a Brit).

You'll be able to check out Football Manager 2023 when it launches on November 8th. It'll arrive on PC, of course, as well as on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, and it'll be playable on Game Pass on day one. You can also check the game out on PS5, and its Touch incarnation will be playable on mobile devices and Nintendo Switch as well.
