The Flotsam Early Access release date has been announced for September 2019. If you've ever wanted to live in a town built entirely out of garbage, your only option until now was to move to New Jersey. Now, Pajama Llama Games and Kongregate have announced that their quirky city builder Flotsam will be making its way to PC on September 26, 2019, as part of the platform's Early Access program.
In Flotsam, the world's a bit wetter than we're used to. Described as a "feel-good apocalypse world", you must manage your adorable floating town and provide for its citizens while dealing with the various hazards of the open water. While the old world is mostly underwater, it has helpfully left behind a lot of detritus that can be used to build new things so your handful of survivors can stay alive in this harsh new world.
The developers announced the Flotsam Early access release date with a simple Steam Community news post that states the date and includes a trailer (which you can see below).
While this may seem like a static city builder, there's a bit more to the game than you might expect. Seeing as your town is a bunch of junk floating on the water, there isn't much that stops you from slapping a sail onto the whole shebang and floating off somewhere interesting. That firmly places Flotsam into the niche of city builders where you can move the entire city at once.
We highlighted Flotsam for our Screenshot Survey series way back in 2015 when it was still very early in development. You'll be able to pick up this game on the Flotsam Early Access release date of September 26, 2019. No price has been announced, but the developers state that it will be "in line with other games of the genre." In the meantime, you can add Flotsam to your wishlist on Steam and watch the O-fish-al Release Date Trailer below.
