A Flappy Bird Battle Royale called Flappy Royale has been revealed to the world and I'm pretty sure that this is one of the signs of the apocalypse. If you're at all curious about what this is, it's exactly what it says on the tin: a battle royale game based on the smash hit Flappy Bird.
Kotaku reported the discovery of this game, so of course, I had to check it out for myself. I was never too big into the whole Flappy Bird craze, but I have to concede that Flappy Royale is an awful lot of fun. I even won a game, although that largely came down to everyone else failing more so than me succeeding.
If you're curious about the gameplay of the Flappy Bird Battle Royale, it plays out exactly like you might think it would. A bus flies through the air and lets the 100 players drop at their leisure. Get out before you make it to the first pipe, though, because the bus driver crashes immediately. From there, it's a race to see who can survive the longest. Even after you win, you can keep on going to try to get a high score.
Players are also able to customize their flappy fighters to a certain degree. You can see all of the other players on the screen as transparent characters, although there is no interaction otherwise between you and your 99 opponents.
The Google Play Store link for the game is available as is an Apple Testflight link for the iOS version of the game. You can play the Flappy Bird Battle Royale for free (supported via ads) on iOS, Android, or through a web browser via itch.io.
