The spooktacular Five Nights At Freddy's games will be heading to the Nintendo Switch (and other platforms) sometime in 2019 according to a news post on the Steam Community page of Ultimate Custom Night.

Five Nights At Freddy's sees players trying to survive at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, a place that is essentially the Chuck E. Cheese from hell. While the daytime version of the restaurant is packed with delightful laughs and delicious food, nighttime brings about an altogether darker prospect. The animatronic bots turn positively murderous and you're the poor schmuck caught in the middle.

The games have been wildly popular (especially with the younger crowd) and they've seen their fair share of adaptations. Yes, the games will be making their way to the Nintendo Switch, but that's just the tip of the iceberg. A novel was planned (and has since been released) and will be joined by a series of books put together by Scholastic. A movie script focusing on the first three games is in the works and is progressing along after some delays (namely the fact that creator Scott Cawthon decided to shelve the first attempt in favor of a better execution).

Of course, plenty of the adaptations are sticking firmly in the gaming world. New and improved HD ports of the original games will be heading to the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, iOS, and Android. Virtual reality and augmented reality versions are in the works, and "an incredible big-budget game" is also in the cards for Freddy Fazbear and his demented friends.

I wouldn't be surprised if we saw Five Night's At Freddy's coming to smart fridges in the next few years. In the meantime, you'll have to make your ice and play your games on separate devices. It's set to head to consoles and mobile devices in 2019. In the meantime, you can get the first game on Steam for $4.99 or pick up the entire franchise in a bundle for $29.55.

What do you think of Five Nights At Freddy's heading to the Nintendo Switch? What do you feel would be the best platform for playing the games? Let us know in the comments below!
