A Firewatch Nintendo Switch version is on the way and will be available for purchase very soon according to a tweet from the game's developer Campo Santo.
Firewatch is a game that has a strong narrative focus (that is to say, it's pretty close to walking simulator territory) that has received its fair share of acclaim. Our review found it to be an enjoyable experience (although arguably a little too short). We've now learned that a Firewatch Nintendo Switch version is on the way. The game ultimately did pretty well for itself since it sold over a million copies.
It's certainly an interesting narrative experience. Have a look at the game's trailer to get a feel for what it's like:
Fans of the game can expect to get their hands on the Firewatch Nintendo Switch version on December 17, 2018. It's set to launch in the Americas, Europe, Japan, and Australia eShops. A store page is not yet available for the game. We don't have a price just yet either, although odds are it will be pretty close to its $19.99 retail price on PC.
Developer Campo Santo had been purchased by Valve earlier this year. Their newest game In The Valley Of The Gods was announced at last year's The Game Awards.
You'll be able to play the game on your Nintendo console in just a couple of weeks. In the meantime, you can pick it up on plenty of other platforms. PC players can get Firewatch on Steam and GOG for $19.99 or your regional equivalent. Console players can get it at the same price on the PlayStation Store for the PlayStation 4 and the Microsoft Store for the Xbox One. The Firewatch Nintendo Switch port arrives on December 17, 2018.
