Nintendo has released a Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes demo on the Switch eShop. By playing the demo, you'll be able to get a taste of the game's hack-and-slash combat ahead of its release later this month, and your demo progress will carry over into the full game, too.
How can you play the Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes demo?
Playing the demo for this hack-and-slash Musou fighter, which was announced back in February, is easy. All you need to do is head over to the Nintendo eShop on your Switch, search Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, and download the demo. That's it; no special wizardry required. According to Nintendo, the demo allows you to play up to Chapter 4 in each of the game's three routes, so you should be able to get a decent idea of what Three Hopes is all about from that.

In a similar vein to games like Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin, the demo for Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes will also allow you to carry over your progress to the main game if you pick it up when it launches. Hopefully, Three Hopes won't run into Stranger's unplayable demo problem, though. Here's hoping that Three Hopes can repeat Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity's trick and provide another diverting experience for fans of the main strategy series and Warriors hack-and-slash games alike.
What is Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes?
Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes is a hack-and-slash action RPG and a spinoff of the popular Fire Emblem tactical RPG series. You will play as Shez, who can either be male or female, and you'll join Fire Emblem: Three Houses heroes Dimitri, Edelgard, and Claude, along with many other characters from the cast of that game. Just like Three Houses, you'll be able to choose a house to align with, and the outcome of the story will change depending on which house you pick. Hot tip: if Three Hopes is anything like Three Houses, don't pick Edelgard, because you'll get short-changed if you do.

You can play the Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes demo right now on Nintendo Switch. The full game launches on June 24th, and you can pre-order it right now via the eShop if you know you're going to play it. With the last piece of Fire Emblem: Three Houses DLC having launched all the way back in 2020, it'll be nice to spend some time with the cast of Three Houses and chat with them over tea again. While we're at it, can we get a do-over for Edelgard's path as well, please, Nintendo?
