Update 1.0.2 for Fire Emblem: Three Houses is now available. The update adds support for wave 2 of the game's Expansion Pass DLC and makes a change to male Byleth's voice actor.
Wave 2 of Fire Emblem: Three Houses' Expansion Pass DLC adds a few new things to the game. There are now some new Auxiliary Battles, so if you're looking to level up your squad you've got some more options. There's also new Auxiliary Battle background music to keep things fresh. Four new items have been added with various stat bonuses. Perhaps most crucially, most of the students of Garreg Mach Monastery have new outfits, and there's a new pair of glasses for Byleth to wear. How else would you nail that professor look?
In addition to these new features, the game now has a Maddening difficulty mode. Some people, including ourselves, have complained that the game is too easy. Hopefully, Maddening mode should address those complaints. We're not sure exactly what will change if you pick the new mode, but Nintendo says that if you clear it without selecting New Game Plus, you'll get a different title screen. Presumably, that's to commemorate your insanity.
The last significant change in version 1.0.2 of Fire Emblem: Three Houses is a change to male Byleth's voiceover. Original voice actor Chris Niosi has been accused of sexual assault, and Nintendo has been planning to replace his lines in the game since the accusations appeared. Male Byleth's voice credit now goes to Zach Aguilar. You might recognize Aguilar's name if you're an anime fan (and you watch dubbed); he's voiced Genos in One Punch Man and Koichi Hirose in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable.
