The Nintendo Direct is coming soon, and it promises Fire Emblem: Three Houses content. According to a UK retailer Base.com via Nintendolife, the date could be pushed back to September.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses was originally slated for 2018. After a brief showing at Nintendo's E3 2018, it was pushed back to Spring 2019. If this original release date was accurate, it would release some time soon in March, April, or May. Nintendo has been quiet on the game up until this Nintendo Direct set for today at 5 p.m EST. Should this listing on the retailer's site be correct, September 29, 2019 would be the new date.

While this isn't too far off from Spring 2019, fans have been eagerly waiting for Three Houses since Nintendo mentioned a new Fire Emblem would be on the Switch. The gameplay shown during Nintendo's E3 2018 presentation displays a game that appears more similar to Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn on the GameCube and Wii, respectively.

Previous entries included just one unit facing off against another in direct combat, but when the player commands a unit to engage against another, more troops will follow behind. This appears to take advantage of the Switch's hardware capabilities and could have gameplay repercussions too. There also appears to be a way to explore towns or cities, as shown in the recent trailer. Whether you command an avatar unit such as Robin or Corrin is unclear, but we'll likely find out soon.

We know that Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude are three units from three different houses in this entry. Edelgard seems to be focused on heavily in the original trailer, and she was also rumored to be a possible inclusion in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

In any case, we'll find out for certain whether Fire Emblem: Three Houses is getting a delay to September or not later today. Stay tuned to TechRaptor for full coverage on the February 13th Nintendo Direct.

Quick Take

If you get to know me you'll find out that I love Fire Emblem. If this retailer is, in fact, correct, I'm not too worked up about it. In fact, I was suspecting it could be 2020 before we saw the game come out since there's been so little about it since its reveal. September isn't too far off, but I hope that it means the game turns out for the better.
