Today Nintendo and Intelligent Systems released a new trailer and three commercials of the upcoming strategy JRPG Fire Emblem Engage.
The commercials, two for Japanese TV and one for the web, provide another look at gameplay, cutscenes, and the colorful cast of characters you'll be able to control in the game, including past heroes from the Fire Emblem series.
The trailer is one of Nintendo's usual "overview trailers" and if you're familiar with them, you know it's an extensive one, describing every aspect of the series starting from the story and protagonists.
We then take a look at the game's familiar turn-based battles, which retain familiar elements that fans of the Fire Emblem series will recognize on top of new mechanics based on the use of the Emblem rings.
We then move on to the companion characters that we'll control and evolve throughout the game, including the class change and the ability to create the ultimate band of warriors.
Of course, the Emblem RIngs and the heroes from the past have their own section, letting us explore how we can use them to unleash their power in battle.
Next, is a section on the sky fortress that serves at our base, where we can pretty much perform all the out-of-battle activities including socializing with our friends, having meals with them, animal handling, training, and even fishing, minigames, and fortune telling.
Lastly, the trailer features a sequence of story cutscenes. You can enjoy them all below.
Fire Emblem Engage releases exclusively for Nintendo Switch on January 20, 2023. If you'd like to see more, you can check out a trailer focusing on the story.
