Today, Masahiro Sakurai has announced the final fighter, Sora from the Kingdom Hearts series, for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate nearly three years after its launch and three and a half years since its original announcement. Sora is the main protagonist and has been since the very beginning of the Kingdom Hearts series that started in 2002. He wields his keyblade and excels in airborne fighting. Costumes range from the different games, with the default costume being the Kingdom Hearts design and going through Kingdom Hearts II, Kingdom Hearts 3D, and Kingdom Hearts 3.
There are also ten Spirits made available for this last piece of Smash DLC. They include Kairi, Ventus, Aqua, Terra, Riku, Xion, Axel, and Roxas.
Going back to Sora, his attacks are derived from the first game where they're a little lighter and slower moving, but they're still effective. There are 3-hit combos that can be easily landed in the air and on the ground as well. For the Smash attack it's an up attack and leaves Sora vulnerable, so be sure to time it correctly. There are a variety of magic attacks based on the Final Fantasy-inspired magic in the games.
“Having a fan-favorite character like Sora join the ranks of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is the perfect way to close out the Fighters Pass expansions,” said Nick Chavez, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Communications. “With a dozen fighters added since the game launched, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate now boasts 86 total fighters spanning the entire history of video games, giving players an unprecedented amount of gameplay choices and options.”
Sora was the most requested character for an in-house survey called Smash Bros. Fighter Ballot back in 2014 when Iwata was still alive. It was originally for Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo 3DS and Wii. After a discussion with Iwata, it was decided not to reveal the results because people might then "demand them from the respective game companies." It was apparently a huge undertaking getting Sora into Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, but apparently, everyone involved was very excited to take the challenge head-on. Basically, to add Sora into the game, it took more "coordination" than any other fighter for Ultimate, likely due to the involvement of Disney with the Kingdom Hearts series.
Technically this means there are now three Kingdom Hearts characters in Smash, as Cloud, and Sephiroth also appear in the games.

The newest stage in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is Hollow Bastion, the final world available in the original Kingdom Hearts. The stage floats and shifts around a bunch, ending up with Dive Into The Heart, which features stained glass graphics showing off some of the heroes in the Kingdom Hearts franchise.

He's also announced some Extra Mii Costumes Round 11 from Splatloon and Doom, which include Octoling (Wig) from Splatoon, Judd (hat), and Doom Slayer (Gunner). They are available on October 18 for 0.75$ each.
What new Amiibos are coming with the latest Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC?
There's Amiibos coming for Steve and Alex from Minecraft in 2022. Sephiroth, Pyra, Mythra, and Kazuya will also be getting Amiibos but they haven't been given a release date yet. Presumably, Sora will as well as the final Smash series amiibo.
What new songs are available in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Sora DLC?
Ten new songs in total are in the game. They are Night of Fate, Destiny's Hand, Shrouding Dark Cloud, Hand in Hand, Blast Away! -Gummi Ship II-, Hollow Bastion, Scherzo Di Notte, Fragments of Sorrow, and Destati. That's only nine, but one is also available made available if you have a save file for Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory. If you have it, you will have access to an swing arrangement of Dearly Beloved.

Kingdom Hearts is Coming to the Nintendo Switch!
Kingdom Hearts 1.5 - HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMix - and Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue will be available to play normally, with Kingdom Hearts 3 available to play on the Nintendo Switch only via cloud gaming. An unexpected surprise, but a welcome one all the same.
Do Micky, Donald and Goofy or other Disney Characters Appear in Super Smash Bros Ultimate?
There is no appearance of any Disney characters in Sora's attacks. He doesn't summon any for his Final Smash or any of the move to help him out. Additionally, none of the spirits are Disney characters as seen above. The closest we have to a Disney appearance is the Mickey Mouse symbol on Sora's Keyblade.
When is Sora released for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate?
Sora will be made available on October 18, 2021 as part of Fighter Pack 2 for $29.99, or as a separate DLC for $5.99.
