Earlier this month, Square Enix announced that their long-awaited role-playing game, Final Fantasy 15, will feature an optional season pass players can buy to get all of the game's future downloadable content. Today the company has revealed that players who purchased the insanely-expensive $270 Ultimate Collector's Edition of Final Fantasy 15 will not get the season pass included, and will in fact have to pay extra for it.

In a Twitter Q&A with Final Fantasy 15 director Hajime Tabata, a fan asked if the Ultimate Collector's Edition would include the season pass, to which Tabata said:

"sadly no & we looked into making more UCE but we were told we still can't."

The Collector's Edition is exclusively available on the Square Enix Online Store, and costs a pretty $269.99. It includes a 192 page hardcover art book, a statue of main character Noctis, a copy of the full-length film Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy 15, the game's anime spin-off Brotherhood and bonus in-game content like a unique weapon and a "travel pack."

At first, Square Enix only claimed that they would only be making 30,000 copies of the Ultimate Collector's Edition available worldwide. When those 30,000 copies sold out within 30 minutes, Tabata later confirmed that more copies of the special edition would be produced, but that the company couldn't guarantee the extra copies would be ready in time for the game's launch.

The Final Fantasy 15 season pass will least six pieces of downloadable content, currently dubbed "Booster Pack", "Episode Gladio", "Holiday Pack", "Episode Ignis", "Episode Prompto", and "Expansion Pack."  The season pass will be included in the digital premium edition of the game, which can currently be pre-ordered on the PlayStation Store and the Xbox Store for $84.99. For those who already pre-ordered you can upgrade your edition to include the Season Pass for $24.99.

Each platform will also have its own exclusive pre-order content. Xbox Games Store customers will receive the following: the Masamune weapon (FFXV), the 16-Bit Buddies recolor, the Angler Item Set, a Platinum Leviathan recolor, the Camera Kit item, Noctis male costume Avatar Item, Noctis female costume Xbox Avatar Item, and the Carbuncle pet prop Avatar Item.

PlayStation Store customers will receive the same things, only instead of the avatar items they will get the Final Fantasy 15 Big Bang theme, the Final Fantasy 15 Digital "Mini" Sound Track, and the Final Fantasy 15 Digital Premium Edition Original Theme.

After a delay that was confirmed this week, Final Fantasy 15 will finally be released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Nov. 29.
