The Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary Celebration kicked off today and with it came a bunch of Final Fantasy news, as one would imagine (today is Final Fantasy VII's 20th anniversary too, check out our article celebrating it). For Final Fantasy XV some information was shared on the upcoming DLC coming February 21st and a couple of the future DLCs in Episode Prompto and Episode Gladiolus.
The first DLC, the Booster Pack, is releasing February 21st and introduces some new items to FFXV. The most exciting of which is the Magitek Exosuit that each member of your party can wear. FFXV is obviously pretty excited for the new Power Rangers movie. The suits give players invulnerability for 30 minutes, as well as boosting Noctis' fishing skill, but then must recharge for 24 hours. The suit is included in the Booster Pack DLC free version and paid version (Booster Pack+). Other items not detailed will also come along with this DLC. Booster Pack+ is included in FFXV's Season Pass.
The next bit of DLC coming to Final Fantasy XV is Episode Gladiolus on March 28th. Players will control Gladio in this DLC, which will give a different perspective on FFXV's combat. Episode Gladiolus will feature Gilgamesh, a longtime staple of the Final Fantasy series. Gilgamesh is a character who is seemingly obsessed, or connected, to Excalibur and often appears to players when they have the weapon or a similar one. He has popped up as a summon, boss, quest giver, and more, so who knows what he will be here. Episode Gladiolus is part of the Season Pass.
A release window for Episode Prompto was also given for June of this year. No details about the episode were revealed; however, it's probably safe to say it will be from Prompto's point of view. No word was given on Episode Ignis.
What do you think of the upcoming content for Final Fantasy XV? Will you be purchasing it? What do you hope it is all about?
