Today Square Enix announced that it will localize and publish in the west Final Fantasy XIV: Eorzea Academy, a super-cute parody manga dedicated to the popular MMORPG.
The manga transports the popular NPC from Final Fantasy XIV like Alisaie, Aphinaud, Y'shtola, Thancred, Urianger, and more into the typical Japanese-ish school setting, with really amusing effects. While it was released in Japan a while ago, it's finally coming officially in English, much to the joy of the fans.
Pre-orders start today for $14.99 in paperback form and $9.99 in digital form. The release date is September 19, 2023. The volume counts 192 pages and the art is by Esora Amaichi.
If you're unfamiliar with it, here's an official synopsis.
"Alisaie is a high school student attending Eorzea Academy, an exclusive institution created by the merger of former rival schools the Academy of Light and the Academy of Darkness. Though all the students now wear the same uniform, a bitter divide remains between the Class of Light and the Class of Darkness. Worried about the ongoing conflict, headmistress Tataru decides it's time for some bold solutions to raise morale. Let the school games begin!"
At the same time, Square Enix also announced the localization of two more manga, The Ice Guy and the Cool Girl by Miyuki Tonogaya and Mr. Villain's Day Off by Yuu Morikawa.
Final Fantasy XIV is currently available for PS5, PS4, and PC both on Steam and via stand-alone client.
