A new Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade trailer suggests the game might not be exclusive to PS5 forever. A disclaimer at the end of the trailer states the game will only be available on Sony's next-gen platform for "at least six months".

Could Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade be coming to other platforms?

The trailer, which you can check out here, features around three and a half minutes of new Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade footage. It shows off the game's new visual and performance improvements on the PS5, as well as gameplay featuring Episode Intermission protagonists Yuffie and Sonon. At the very end of the trailer, a PlayStation banner declares the game to be a PS5 console exclusive, with a message below stating Intergrade will be "available on PS5 at least six months earlier than any other format".

This could mean a number of things. Perhaps most excitingly, it could mean that Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is on its way to Xbox Series X|S and PC at some point in the future. Square Enix hasn't officially announced the game for other platforms, and Final Fantasy VII Remake is only available on PS4 right now. Still, given that many other Final Fantasy titles are available on other platforms, it's not completely out of the realms of possibility. It is worth remembering that "any other format" could simply mean that the PS5-exclusive Yuffie-starring Episode Intermission is on its way to PS4, but "other platforms" seems like a strange way to word "PS4". We'll bring you more on this as we get it.

What else is going on in the world of Final Fantasy?

If you're a Final Fantasy fan - and if you love Final Fantasy VII - then Square Enix has given you another reason to get excited. A new mobile game, Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier, was announced for Android and iOS devices. It's a battle royale action game in which, as you might expect, you must fight other members of SOLDIER in order to emerge victorious. The game will feature various different classes, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. It'll also feature rideable chocobos, summons, materia, and more, as well as customizable outfits and skins. You can check out the teaser trailer here for more info.

The upcoming battle royale game Final Fantasy VII: The Last Soldier
The world of Final Fantasy VII is expanding with battle royale game Final Fantasy VII: The Last Soldier.

In September last year, Square Enix also announced Final Fantasy XVI. It'll ostensibly be a PS5 exclusive, but during the initial trailer shown as part of the PlayStation 5 showcase, a message said the game would also be coming to PC. That trailer was amended to remove the message, but this message, along with the "any other platforms" disclaimer above, does lend some credence to the idea that both Final Fantasy XVI and Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade could eventually come to other platforms. Stay tuned for more info.
