Square Enix has shared more details about the world that you'll be able to enjoy in the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake sequel Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
According to a post on the game's official Twitter account, the game will feature a "wide and multifaceted world" to explore with a "high degree of freedom."
The full message, signed by director Naoki Hamaguchi, reads as follows.
Question: How will players journey through the world outside of Midgar in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth?
Answer: Players will be able to journey across the wide and multifaceted world with a high degree of freedom, experiencing a myriad of different stories along the way.
Just yesterday, Square Enix announced that development is going smoothly and that the developers are working on determining a release date. This appears to be part of a series of reveals, which means that we might get more information in the following days.
If you're not familiar with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, it's the second title of what is supposed to be a trilogy started with the Final Fantasy VII Remake. It was officially revealed almost exactly a year ago with a rather trippy trailer that most definitely brought up more questions for the fans than it answered. The game will come to PS5 in winter 2023.
