After twenty three years, Final Fantasy V is heading to Steam on September 24th. From now and until the game’s launch, there will also be a 10% discount for any that are inclined to pre-order the title. It continues the trend of Square Enix porting the collection of Final Fantasy games to different platforms, as last seen with Final Fantasy Type Zero on the PC, and Final Fantasy VII on the IOS platform.
https://youtu.be/rf8isFck1v0 In terms of features, the Steam release will have “… recreate[d] the characters and graphics… for an enhanced experience,” as well as revamping the controls and battle-system for a “… fluid PC experience.” In addition, The Sealed Temple, the additional content from the Game Boy Advance release will be also included, as well as an optional new boss called Enuo, who was created by renowned designer Tetsuya Nomura. The game will also include the quintessential job system, which will have “… 26 unique classes that allows players to freely customize their four heroes to fit their unique play style.” This does include 4 additional classes that hasn't been seen in the game before, such as the necromancer and cannoneer jobs.
The game itself has players gathering their party of four heroes, and seeking to allay the fact that the “… crystals that bring peace and prosperity to the world – earth, water, fire, and wind – have lost their power and are on the verge of destruction.” To save the world, players will have to ‘restore’ power to the four crystals before it is too late. Expect Exdeath to make his appearance to cause problems for the heroes as well.
And perhaps most importantly, there will be 'loads' of Steam cards and achievements that will be included in the Steam version of Final Fantasy V. Wouldn't want to forget that.
