The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster price has been revealed with the Steam Store pages going live for the games — purchasing all six of these Square Enix remasters costs more than a single next-gen game.

Earlier this month, the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster games were revealed during Square Enix Presents 2021. The pixel art versions of Final Fantasy 1 through Final Fantasy 6 are getting a complete overhaul in terms of graphics and sound. Now, we know exactly what they're going to cost — you're going to be spending close to a hundred bucks if you buy the games individually.

What is the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Price?

The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster price can be as much as $100 if you buy each of the games on their own, although a bundle with all six games can drop the price down to a little under $75. Each of the individual games are priced differently:

Purchased individually, the first six games will cost you $95.94 or your regional equivalent ($127.94 Canadian according to my Editor). Only the first three games are available for pre-purchase at the moment, although all three games are priced at a 20% discount until August 11, 2021.

However, this isn't the only option — you can purchase the Final Fantasy 1–6 Bundle and get all six games (along with bonus OST & wallpaper DLC for each game) for $74.82 (99.78 Canadian). That might still be pretty pricey for some people, especially when you consider that these games were originally released 20–30 years ago.

When is the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Release Date?

The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster release date is July 28, 2021, for Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster 1–3Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster 4–6 do not yet have a release date, but they do have a release window of 2021.

Bear in mind that the launch of these Pixel Remasters means that the old versions of Final Fantasy 5 and Final Fantasy 6 are going to be removed from Steam at some point in the future; you will, however, still be able to buy the Final Fantasy 3 3D Remake and Final Fantasy 4 3D Remake going forward. For now, you can pre-purchase the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster bundle on Steam for $74.82 or your regional equivalent.

Update (06/30/2021, 3:59 PM) – A thread on ResetEra highlighted an important point that I missed the first time around: these remasters may be lacking bonus content in other remasters of the first six games as noted on the bundle page:

*These games are newly developed remaster editions based on the original titles. Some of the changes and additional elements found in other remakes of these games are not included."

Additionally, the iOS versions of previous Final Fantasy games will also be made unavailable for purchase in a similar fashion to Final Fantasy 5 and Final Fantasy 6 on Steam as shown on the iOS App Store page for Final Fantasy.
