Final Fantasy 9 PS4

The Final Fantasy 9 PS4 port is now available for purchase on the PlayStation Store, bringing several features introduced in the PC version released last year.

Additional features for Final Fantasy 9's PS4 port include trophies, remote play support, HD graphics for character models and pre-rendered cutscenes, and an auto-save system. There will also be “boosts” available such as the ability to disable random enemy encounters, auto-battle mode, faster game speed, and a cheat to max out your in-game money, gear, and player stats.

Final Fantasy 9 is now available to download for USD$16.79, with discounts for PlayStation Plus subscribers. Additionally, those who purchase the game will receive PSN avatars and a Final Fantasy 9 theme.

Final Fantasy 9 for the PS4 was officially announced at Sony’s press conference via a trailer at Tokyo Game Show 2017. Basically, the trailer shows Zidane and friends in HD. The surprise announcement was somewhat spoiled early by the Pan European Gaming Information board (PEGI) after it rated the game for PS4 yesterday.

Final Fantasy 9 was released back in 2000 for the PSOne. The game sold well, but was unable to surpass records made by Final Fantasy 7 and Final Fantasy 8. Similar to these classic games, Final Fantasy 9 is a traditional turn-based RPG. The game was eventually re-released digitally for PS3, PSP, and PS Vita in 2010, with the PC port being released in 2016.

Below is a snippet of the game’s story on the PlayStation Store:

The Tantalus Theatre Troupe visits the Kingdom of Alexandria to help celebrate Princess Garnet’s birthday. However, the troupe is actually a group of thieves and their real intension is to kidnap the princess! Meanwhile, a young black mage called Vivi arrives to watch their performance but is at a loss when he realises that he only has a forged ticket…

In a picture book-like world of fantasy, Zidane the thief, Princess Garnet and Vivi get tangled up in an emotional and magnificent crystal adventure!
