Square Enix has finally locked down the Final Fantasy 6 Pixel Remaster release date -- you'll be able to play the final game in the set of Pixel Remasters before the end of the month.

The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster project aims to give the first six games in the franchise a bit of a glow-up, albeit with a bit of included sticker shock. The release dates for some of the games were leaked last summer.

It has been over a thousand years since The War of the Magi. Humanity has used Magitech to rebuild the world, but not all is well. the Empire has imprisoned Terra -- a young girl who has manifested strange powers -- in the hopes to use them as a devastating weapon.

Fortunately, Terra isn't sticking around in the Empire for long. A young man named Locke helps her escape, kicking off an epic adventure filled with fun and peril. And, of course, this game has all of the Final Fantasy staples you'd expect like airships, epic battles, and an awesome soundtrack.

Unfortunately, the Final Fantasy 6 Pixel Remaster release date was delayed late last year. Since then, we knew that it would be arriving sometime in February 2022 -- and now, we finally have a specific launch date according to a press release from Square Enix.
