Fight Crab is a knife-wielding crab gif in video game format.

An off the wall premise, Fight Crab is literally what is advertises itself as, giant weapon-wielding crustacean's duking it out in a fast-paced, no-holds-barred brawl.

Indie developer Nusso has described these crabs as being bestowed god-like powers in a far off world, and now fight it out over a singular principle, “Those who are flipped onto their shells, shall be cooked into a crab cake, or mouth-watering rangoon.”

Yep, that's the premise. If you are flipped on your back for a certain amount of time, you lose the battle, with Fight Crab tracking your damage percentage in the same vein as Super Smash Bros. The more damage you take, the more likely you will be flipped on your back.

Added into the mix is a variety of weapons. With standard knives, swords, katanas and sawed-off shotguns mixed with some oddball choices like chainsaws, fans, and even double-bladed lightsabers. In total, Fight Crab currently contains 41 different weapons, with 19 species of crab and lobster available to play as in standard 1 v 1 or 2 v 2 multiplayer battles.

Nusso has already promised to add more features to Fight Crab as development continues, but the biggest announcement for the game is that it is making its way to the Nintendo Switch. The Switch version will add a unique control scheme thanks to the Joy-con controllers. Each controller reportedly controls one claw on your crab, meaning mayhem will likely ensue for players holding out for the Switch version.

Those willing to try Fight Crab now can check out the early access build on itch.io, which Nusso is offering to players for $15. No official release date for the Switch version has been announced yet, but it is expected to come later this year.
