FIFA 22 Apex Legends crossover has been announced, bringing items themed around Gibraltar, Octane, and Wraith into FIFA Ultimate Team. No, really.

As you probably know, Apex Legends is a pretty popular Battle Royale game born from the ashes of the TItanfall franchise. FIFA 22, on the other hand, is a game about soccer. Now, a collaboration between the two games has been announced, bringing Apex Legends-themed cosmetics to FIFA Ultimate Team.

What is the FIFA 22 Apex Legends Crossover?

The FIFA 22 Apex Legends crossover is making the following items available through FIFA Ultimate Team:

  • An Olympus XL Tifo
  • A VIP Area themed around the "Phase Runner" Arenas map
  • Cosmetic kits themed around the Legends Gibraltar, Octane, and Wraith

The cosmetic kits are fairly self-explanatory -- these are the jerseys, shorts, and whatnot worn by players that you see in the above tweet and our header image. Each of these three sets is themed around one of the game's Legends in terms of style and color.

As for the tifo, that's a thing that I had to look up. You know those things where the crowd in a sports stadium will wave colored cards and make motions to spell out a team's name or make a cool image? Throw in some flags and banners, too, and you have a tifo. In this case, the tifo is themed around the Olympus map from Apex Legends. The VIP Area is, well, an area for VIPs of a particular team that show off their fandom with some really flashy banners and outfits.

In short, the FIFA 22 Apex Legends crossover features three uniform kits and two cosmetics for a stadium's audience. Mind, Apex Legends is no stranger to cosmetics; it just wrapped up its Anniversary Collection Event that unfortunately had a problem with its flagship cosmetic. (That problem was fixed a short while later.)

This collab does seem a little strange -- I have to wonder how much crossover there is between FIFA 22 and Apex Legends players. Still, it's a neat little thing for fans of both games to pick up for their FIFA Ultimate Team experience. You can play Apex Legends for free on PC and consoles, and you can buy the latest soccer game FIFA 22 for PC, consoles, and Google Stadia starting at $59.99 or your regional equivalent.
