Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown's soundtrack is among the best of the series, and today Project Aces released a music video that will be a treat for the fans.
The video showcases the well-known track "Magic Spear" performed by acclaimed Japanese guitarist Masahiro Itami with sound director Ryo Watanabe acting as DJ. As you may expect, they pretty much light it on fire.
Incidentally, today is a special day, as it marks the 4th anniversary of the release of the game, which originally launched on January 18, 2019. if you're wondering, it's already the 18th in Japan.
The video is the third of the "Music Beyond the Sky" series showcasing the franchise's soundtracks performed by famous musicians. It follows another featuring Fire Youngman from Ace Combat 2 which was also performed by Masahiro Itami and "A Brand New Day" from Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation performed by pianist Shogo Nomura.
You can watch the video below. If you want to hear more, Project Aces also released a second video with a mini-interview with Itami-san and Watanabe-san as they talk about the music.
Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown is currently available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The game has revitalized the franchise after a long dormancy, and has sold over 4 million copies as of November 2022.
A new game is in development in partnership with ILCA, but we don't know much about the game just yet besides the utilization of Unreal Engine 5. While today was the perfect day for an announcement, at the moment we haven't heard anything specific. We'll have to wait and see. Hopefully, we'll hear more soon from Bandai Namco and Project Aces.
