The FFXIV Patch 6.1 release date has been revealed -- You'll be able to jump into the Newfound Adventure quest, explore a new PVP arena, check out a new housing district, and more when it launches next month.
Final Fantasy XIV is a popular MMORPG set within the Final Fantasy universe. It's so popular, in fact, that the devs had to halt sales due to long queues; sales of the game only resumed earlier this year. Things have been going pretty well since then -- aside from the occasional Steam error, that is -- and now the launch date for the next update has been revealed. Check out the trailer!
The centerpiece of Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.1 is the Main Scenario Quest "Newfound Adventure," a quest that serves as a bit of a narrative throwback. A mysterious map is the driver for this new quest, although whether or not it's real is a question that will only be uncovered when you explore the mystery.
Happily, the housing situation might be getting a little better with the introduction of a new residential district in Empyreum. You won't be able to just pop in and buy a house, though -- a new Housing Lottery System will regulate demand through a simple game of chance on a nine-day cycle.
As always, this update will include raids, trials, and more, including the first part of an "all-new original alliance raid series" called Myths of the Realm: Aglaia. You can read about all of the new stuff on the way on the FFXIV Patch 6.1 preview page.
When is the FFXIV Patch 6.1 Release Date?
The FFXIV Patch 6.1 release date is April 12, 2022. As always, you'll have to contend with a bit of downtime while the servers are updated.
The next FFXIV patch is shaping up to be pretty robust, but you don't have to wait to enjoy a ton of great MMORPG content. You can join in on the fun by buying Final Fantasy XIV for PC and PlayStation starting at $19.99 or your regional equivalent.
